New Sermon series in Colossians - Fullness in Christ

This week we are starting some sermons looking at Paul's letter to the Colossians. The Colossian Christians were being offered greater experiences of God and greater intimacy with him. Is that possible? How can we know God better? Do come along for Sunday's service, where we gather at 4 for tea and 4.30pm for the service at St Mark's.

Small groups Restart

Small groups are a great opportunity to spend time together in God's word and help each other listen to God speak. They're also a place where we pray for each other and try to build loving, Christlike friendships. And they're kicking off this Tuesday! There'll be fajitas from 7.30pm and then groups will start at 8pm. This term, we will start off looking at 1 Samuel together.

If you haven't joined a group before then do sign up with this link. Likewise, if it's been a year or two since you've been along, now would be a great time to start again.

One anothering

At the start of a new year, it may be that things feel very hopeful, or it may be there are real challenges ahead and uncertainty ahead of us. This Sunday we're beginning a new series titled One another. The New Testament is full of 'one another' commands, like 'forgive one another' or 'encourage one another'. They paint a picture of how we are to treat each other as God's people. Over the next three weeks we're going to look at some of these commands. Let's pray God will speak to us and lead us to grow as the body of Christ together.

We'll also be celebrating the Lord''s Supper together.

Summerlink

Summerlink

During the summer our we pause our normal small groups for something called Summerlink. It's an opportunity to think about living as Christians in our world. There’s a short bible-study, a talk and plenty of time to discuss and ask questions (and bread & cheese and snacks to keep us going)

This summer we're going to think about everyday myths in light of the gospel. The stories society tells help us make sense of our world, they can seem truly compelling. But we'll consider their longings and lies in light of the gospel. What is good and right in the stories the world tells? The gospel affirms humanity's deepest longings, but also challenges and reshapes them, answering them in ways that sometimes surprise us. The gospel is a better story.

We'll reflect on the entertainment we consume, our quest for happiness, our view of shopping, and what to make of history and politics.
